My father died just over a year ago. My mother is still alive. Neither are/were members of the LDS church. Since my father was not a member of the church I want him to start my fathers temple workhave the opportunity to accept the gospel in the "afterlife" and if he accepts the gospel I want him to have the chance to be baptised into the church by proxy (me).
I've read or heard somewhere that I need to have permission of the immediate family before any of this can be performed.
Do I need to have my living mothers permission before I proceed?
I'm his son, is my consent adequate?

Permissions before work is done.
